Aletheia House Awarded $2.5 million Federal Grant for Rural Substance Abuse Treatment & HIV Prevention

The U.S. Substance Abuse, Mental Health Services Administration announced today that it had selected Aletheia House to receive a $2.5 million grant to provide substance abuse treatment and HIV prevention services in four rural Alabama counties. The grant is $500,000 per year for five years.

The program, called Healthy Living, is a new treatment program for African-American men and women with substance use or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders who are living with HIV/AIDS or are at high risk for HIV infection. It will be located in four rural Alabama counties with high HIV prevalence rates-Dallas, Lowndes, Butler and Conecuh

Aletheia House Honored with Gift from Wells Fargo at Days of Giving Event

Aletheia House was honored by Wells Fargo with a $1,000 grant at the company’s Days of Giving ceremony at the Birmingham Zoo on September 18, 2012. Aletheia House was selected as a recipient by local company employees.

“A hallmark of Wells Fargo is local decision-making and local involvement,” said Wells Fargo Area Business Banking Manager, Jim Richardson.“Through Days of Giving we’re connecting with local communities in a whole new way.”

Outreach specialist Carla Pennington attended the event to accept the award on behalf of Aletheia House.

Aletheia House Welcomes Kids Who Care Summer Interns

School is out and summer is here! For Aletheia House, that means it is time for Kids Who Care camp and to welcome our summer interns.
