Aletheia House is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of men and women recovering from substance abuse. We currently have several part-time opportunities for the right qualified individuals who have a passion for teaching. We are in need of 4 Basic Living Skills Instructors for our EDC, Men and Women IOP programs.

There are four available Basic Living Skills Instructor positions:
1a. 12:45 pm - 3:45 pm (4 days per week) and on Saturday from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm (24 hours per week total)
2b. 12:45 pm - 3:45 pm (4 days per week) (12 hours per week total)
3c. 12:45 pm - 3:45 pm (4 days per week) and on Saturday from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (15 hours per week total)
4d. 12:45 pm - 6:45 pm (4 days per week) (28 hours per week total)

**Direct service hours and documentation time is included in total hours per week**

Position Summary:
The Basic Living Skills Instructor will provide basic living skills, employment readiness, and other structured group activities and classes. The BLS Instructor works closely with the Program Manager and Director of Behavioral Health to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide instruction in an interesting manner while actively involving client activities to increase soft skills needed to obtain and maintain employment.
-To provide employment readiness classes, life skills instruction, and other structured group activities using the approved curriculum to participants in the program.
-To provide referrals and resources to participants.
-To document the delivery of services in a timely and professional manner in accordance with the policies of Aletheia House and the Department of Mental Health.
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants and resource providers.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

-Bachelors Degree in behavioral health required. Teaching experience preferred.
-Experience in providing substance abuse treatment and/or prevention services preferred.

Physical Requirements:
-Requires the physical ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for moderate periods of time.

Job Salary: 
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour DOE
