Aletheia House has an opening in Evergreen, AL. We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of those who are in treatment for substance use disorders.

Office Location: Evergreen, AL

Position Summary:
The Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the recruitment of program participants who are in need of treatment and supportive services. The Recovery Support Specialist is also responsible for providing recovery coaching services for program participants in the IOP Program. The Recovery Support Specialist works closely with the Treatment Services Coordinator and the Director of Behavioral Health to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
Outreach:
-Actively recruit program participants who are in need of treatment and supportive services.
-Provide outreach and engagement services.
-Conduct regular visits to areas and facilities to find program participants; as well as conducting street outreach in the shelters, encampments, abandoned houses, and/or any other areas where potential program participants congregate.
-Identifying, recruiting and enrolling at least 5-6 participants weekly into the program.
-Enrollment will come from street outreach referral from other service providers.
-Assist in the collection of follow-up data by locating individuals who have received services.
-Coordinate and communicate outreach tracking activities with other staff members and accurately documenting all activities.
-Participate in required staff meetings and trainings.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Treatment Services Coordinator, Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer, and/or Executive Director.

Recovery Support Specialist:
-Provide peer mentoring and/or coaching to clients enrolled.
-Provide recovery resource connecting.
-Facilitate and lead recovery groups as needed.
-To build positive relationships within the community.
-Assist the Treatment Services Coordinator in helping program participants find needed community resources.
-Serve as a liaison between participants and connecting with other community organizations and resources.
-Assist program participants with solving problems directly related to recovery.
-Assist program participants with improving job skills.
-Properly document activities on clients and maintain other records as directed.
-Transport program participants to appointments and assist them in obtaining community services.
-Maintain accurate, complete and timely documentation of peer support activities.
-Maintain contact with participants between appointments and sessions.
-Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with participants and resource providers.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
-Ability to maintain harmonious effective working relationships with other employees.

Qualifications and Education:
-High School Diploma or GED required.
-Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record required.

Travel:
-As needed in order to recruit participants in the counties serviced and to attend meetings and trainings located in Birmingham, AL.

Job Salary: 
$30,000.00
Hours: 
Full-time, Exempt, Monday – Friday – 40 Hours (Work hours may vary).
