Position Summary:
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing IT technical support at Aletheia House offices by providing direct, technical, hands-on technical support for Aletheia House staff. The Technical Support Specialist is experienced with a majority of technologies and systems such as laptop and desktop computers, tablet devices, applications, software, interactive or “smart” boards, audiovisual equipment, printers, local area network (LAN) and wireless (LAN).
Area / Counties serviced are Birmingham, AL and surrounding counties.

As part of our team, The Technical Support Specialist will work on a variety of software/hardware systems from Microsoft Office to printers and network. The Technical Support Specialist should have knowledge of running diagnostics and troubleshooting and identify the need for upgrades, handling or assisting in equipment move and effectively control IT operations and troubleshooting. The Technical Support Specialist works closely with the Executive Director and/or Chief Operating Officer to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Familiarity with various Microsoft Windows operating systems.
-Proficiency in configuring and using internet web browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft applications.
-Proficiency using computer and network-based work order management system in performing repairs, assistance and resolution of computer or electronic mail (email) issues.
-Assist with email setup as required from laptops, cell phone, and/or other devices.
-Install, configure, or uninstall software, software updates, or hardware
-Routine network configuration and preventative maintenance of hardware
-Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of computers and other instructional technology devices.
-Remote desktop and remote server support
-Installation of new equipment, computer hardware service and upgrades for staff as needed
-Wireless network configuration and assistance
-Software upgrades
-Computer troubleshooting
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve IT issues
-Ability to effectively use Computer applications and knowledgeable of Antivirus
-Must be well organized and have effective time management skills.
-Ability to communicate effectively and knowledgeable of installation and configuration
of Windows servers and workstation platforms.
-The ability to adapt to IT issues with the willingness to seek resolution and try new approaches.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
-Excellent writing, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

-High School diploma, Bachelors degree preferred.
-2+ years of experience in business technical support
-Helpdesk experience a plus
-Valid Alabama drivers’ license and good driving record required.

Physical Requirements:
-Install technical equipment.

Travel Requirements:
-Requires the ability to drive a motor vehicle.
-This position requires daily travel in order to service counties.
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.
-Mileage reimbursement is offered.

Job Salary: 
$17.00 Per Hour
P/T, Non-Exempt, Monday - Friday (10 – 20 Hrs/Week - Flexible)
