Position Summary:
The Therapist is responsible for providing substance abuse treatment in a general outpatient setting (GOP). The Therapist works closely with the Director of Behavioral Health and Treatment Program Manager to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Conduct HIV tests and HIV pre/post test counseling.
-Provide individual and group counseling to participants.
-Conduct psycho-social assessments as needed; also conduct psycho-educational classes with clients and their families according to the approved curriculum.
-Document all services in a timely complete and clinically appropriate manner.
-Serve as liaison between clients and other service providers, as applicable.
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants and resource providers.
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
-Ability to maintain harmonious effective working relationships with other employees.

Qualifications:
-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, behavioral health, social work, psychiatric nursing or a related field with:) a clinical practicum, or 2) certification as a substance abuse counselor, preferred.
-Licensure and/certification a plus.
-Must be able to receive a certification as an HIV Instructor and Tester.

Physical Requirements:
-Requires the physical mobility to sit, stand, bend, and walk for moderate periods of time.

Job Salary: 
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour DOE
Hours: 
P/T, Non-Exempt Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
